HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) elements are usually "inline" elements or "block-level" elements. An inline element takes only the space bounded by the tags that define the inline element.
For example-
<p>This <span>span</span> Example of the inline element's influence</p>

The inline elements are treated as a part of the flow of the document and the size should normally not be changed manually. Only inline elements may be contained with inline-elements. And to make even more confusing, inline elements are the only elements that may be contained within a paragraph-element, even though the <p>-element is a block-element.

Hi, An inline element does not start on a new line and only takes up as much width as necessary.

Examples of inline elements:

<span>
<a>
