Well great post! Being a search engine optimizer i would like share something about site traffic. I think social networking site are very effective to increase your site traffic like Facebook, Twitter, my space etc.

Well the more high PR website is linking to you mean you are getting more traffic. Well this is not as such hard and fast rule but this is a better visualization.

Do blogging, Twitter, facebook, digg, delicious are the few platforms that can help you better in getting traffic but the better it is if you have a better SEO for the website.
