The Popularity of PHP as a Programming Language

This thread is really intended for those who are still new to the world of website design and programming. If you are one of those beginners in this area then you should stick to this thread and the posts that will be made by other forum members here. When it comes to the coding of any website, the PHP is the most common language that we can really make use of no matter what. This is a free scripting program that could be downloaded from the web at the current times. Since it has been developed in the early 95’s, it has undergone developments from one version to another updated version.

The beauty of PHP lies in its simplicity. It is easy to understand and learn, especially for those with backgrounds in programming such as C, javascript and HTML. The language is similar to C and Perl so that anyone with a background in either C or Perl programming will feel comfortable using and understanding PHP.

PHP is a server-side scripting language, especially suited for the creation of dynamic web pages. This programming language offers web developers a large selection of instruments. PHP, which has become the basis for many web applications, allows easy insertion in HTML code and connection to MySQL Databases.

The latest, so far, version 5 introduced a completely reworked, advanced object-oriented programming support, as well as many improvements towards better productivity and security. PHP 5 is an attempt to break from the PHP 3 era, while still offering almost complete backwards compatibility. Unfortunately, this PHP version still does not offer native support for Unicode.

The best thing of PHP is not hard as .Net, It is also well easy to learn and implement codes easily especially for those with backgrounds in programming such as C, javascript and HTML, .Net is hard but best comparison to PHP as concern of quality and security.

It is possible to use PHP in almost every operating system. PHP can be used in all major operating systems including Linux, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and RISC OS. PHP uses procedural programming or object oriented programming and also a mixture of them.
