Alexa measures the traffic on your website and builds your website ranking in search engines. It provides a numerical rank to your website to denote the popularity in search engines. Alexa rank can be improved by good content update and also by building backlinks from other relevant webpages.

To decrease the alexa ranking you have to promote your site on social media and create quality backlinks. Do both on page and off page seo.
