You should use a 301 redirect if a web page you remove has a alternative page on your web site. If there is no suitable page And remember to customize your 404 page to help people find useful links

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect which passes between 90-99% of link juice (ranking power) to the redirected page. 301 refers to the HTTP status code for this type of redirect. In most instances, the 301 redirect is the best method for implementing redirects on a website.

A 301 code is not an error it's a redirection. In the simplest of "technical definitions", a 301 redirect is a permanent redirect from one URL to the other. A 301 redirect also is often described as a "change of address form" you might get at a post office. If someone doesn't know you moved, you want to make sure all your mail is forwarded to your new place.

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect from one URL to another. 301 redirects send site visitors and search engines to a different URL than the one they originally typed into their browser or selected from a search engine results page. These redirects also link various URLs under one umbrella so search engines rank all of the addresses based on the domain authority from inbound links.

301 redirects are permanent. They mean that the page has moved, and they request any search engine or user agent coming to the page to update the URL in their database. This is the most common type of redirect that people should use.

Yes like above said, 301 code represents the website that permanently removed and redirected to another website URL. If you have more than one site which has the same content, you could make the URL to 301 and redirect to your original one.
