It depends on your traffic and visitors engagement on your site. If you have around 3000 page views a day , two ad unit would be fine, one in between the article or top right or left side of the article and one below the post.

The aspect of Google Adsense depends on the amount of page view you are having. For 3000 page views per day you can take up two unit of advertisement.

It depends on the theme and design of your site. Google allows atmost three ads on a a page.
