Referral traffic is Google's method of reporting visits that came to your site from sources outside of its search engine. When someone clicks on a hyperlink to go to a new page on a different website, Analytics tracks the click as a referral visit to the second site.

Referral traffic is Google's method of reporting visits that got here on your website from sources out of doors of its search engine. While someone clicks on a hyperlink to go to a new web page on a distinctive internet site, analytics tracks the click as a referral visit to the second one web page.

Whether you're running a blog or a commercial site, you've probably often heard the term "referral traffic" thrown around as something that can boost your visitors or sales. Referral traffic is not easy to obtain, but if you can get it, it can help you reach your readership or sales goals. You should know a few things about referral traffic if you want to increase the number of visitors to your website,

Referral Traffic - In simple words, the visits you get to your site via a link on other sites. Referral traffic doesn't include search engine and social traffic.

i.e. - You get a visit via a link on this website. Then you'll count this as a referral traffic.

There are other factors too that count your traffic as a referral and also depend on your tracking systems.

The Referral activity is Google's strategy for revealing visits that went to your site from sources outside of its web index. When somebody taps on a hyperlink to go to another page on an alternate site, Analytics tracks the snap as a referral visit to the second site.
