It is good but there are lots of blogs that allow guest blogging so it is up to you to find the niche category blog to post your blog. But try to post on those blogs that rank higher on Google, but they do not provide you the do follow the link and do not post on any blog.

Guest Blogging plays a major role in increasing the traffic and ranking. But as of now, it is not considered by Google for ranking as this technique creates lot more spammy attempts to do guest blogging.
