Basic job of a SEO is to optimize a website / blog and increasing it�s visibility to rank high in the search engine results .
On site optimization
-Title Optimization .
-Important HTML tags .
-Meta tags optimization .
-Keyword optimization and synonyms .
-Link optimization .
-Image optimization

Off site optimization
-Submit your website to social bookmarking
- social networking sites
- Post on online forums .
- Write guest posts for related blogs to your niche .
- Write emails to other bloggers/ website owners in your niche offering them to guest post .
- Write content that is deliberately designed to attract links towards it .
- Create mini-sites and small blogs to pump links to your main site .
-Submit your RSS feeds to feed directories
- Article submission
- Video marketing
- Blogging, guest blogging and blog commenting

All these techniques are very time consuming, especially the off page optimization techniues.... You can use �Keyword Country� as an aid to automate your tasks

Competitor website analysis, traffic analysis from Google analytics is also a job of SEO, SEO is a continuous process, it required regular efforts for off page activities as well as in the analysis

Hello kajal,

I have gone through your post and its really good that you have mentioned most duties of SEO personnel which they have to perform. As per my view we can also add one more to it that is "ANALYSIS", as analysis is also an important of SEO and every SEO personnel have to do analysis work for traffic, keywords and inquiry.
