Google's Comments on Their Panda Update
Google's own position on their Panda update is that it represents just one change among several hundred 'search improvements' they will be implementing this year. They would prefer website owners not to focus on specific changes they have made and will continue to make to their algorithms, but instead to provide users with the highest quality results. This, they suggest, should be obtained by maximizing the 'quality' of pages and articles. Google has proposed a number of criteria that should be considered in order to achieve this goal. The list is long and several of the criteria appear to be quite idealistic. It will be up to each individual organization to determine which should be followed, but avoiding spelling, stylistic, and factual errors would be a good beginning.
