301 Redirect as a Way Past the Sandbox

Say I have a page on my site that has maybe a pr2 or 3 and, like the rest of my site, has been cached by google for ages.

Would it make sense, If I were to launch a new site, to 301 redirect to that new site from this pr2 or 3 page that no one ever visits?

Wouldn't that allow me to avoid the google sandbox? Because the new site would be immediately cached by the 301 redirect? In fact, wouldn't i get the existing pr and backlinks?
