It is not right that SEM is better than SEO. with the help of SEM we get the quick result but we have to pay for it. but if your keywords get organic ranking then you will get result without paying to search engine and it is also a long lasting.

SEO and SEM are not competing services. SEO is considered a subset of SEM services. If you want to conduct business on the Internet you need to be visible in both organic and advertised links, which means you need both SEO and SEM.

There is no better than the other.
IMO, both works well in their own unique ways, depending also on the users preference.
SEM though can give fast result because it involves paid advertisement unlike SEO that is purely organic.

Both SEO and SMO is beneficial for the site but SEO is more important than SMO because it's very helpful to get traffic from search engines and SMO is best for branding your site or product.
