A canonical URL is the URL that you need guests to see. Regularly accepted URLs were utilized to portray the landing page. The run of the mill illustration utilized is that the vast majority regard the accompanying URLs as the same: www.example.com. example.com.

A canonical tag (aka "rel canonical") is a way of telling search engines that a specific URL represents the master copy of a page. Using the canonical tag prevents problems caused by identical or "duplicate" content appearing on multiple URLs. Practically speaking, the canonical tag tells search engines which version of a URL you want to appear in search results.

Broken links can be problematic for website visitors, making them unable to access the desired resource or information. These users may decide to make use of another site to find the necessary information elsewhere. A site that hasn't been updated or checked for a long time may suffer from link rot, which is a term used to describe a site with dozens of broken links.

Canonical Urls are on the page and define which url the page should be indexed as. This is used when you have one or more url parameters that might resolve that same content.
