Bounce rate is the number of visitors who liked your website. Its basically a rate or percentage of user who entered the website and leaved the website without moving forward to further pages. The less the bounce rate the more is the effectiveness of the website.

Bounce rate is the number of visitors who visited your website without penentrating into the inner pages. The bounce rate for a site should be lesser than 50.

Bounce rate (sometimes confused with exit rate) is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and "bounce" (leave the site) rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site.
Bounce rates can be used to help determine the effectiveness or performance of an entry page at generating the interest of visitors. An entry page with a low bounce rate means that the page effectively causes visitors to view more pages and continue on deeper into the web site.

High bounce rates typically indicate that the website isn’t doing a good job of attracting the continued interest of visitors.

No, it doesn't affect the ranking as, not all sites have Google Analytics. A lot of small businesses do, but many corporate sites don't. They use other commercial measurement tools and Google does not have access to this data, so they don't know what the site bounce rate is.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors who open only one page of website and then leave the website. Bounce rate shows the visitor viewed only one page or more than one page.

Bounce rate means the visitors visited on your website & then leave your website suddenly without jumping out on another page. It is measured by the time spend by visitor on your website. The ideal bounce rate should be nearly 40%.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors to a given website that leave the site after viewing only a single page. A high bounce rate can be interpreted to mean either that the content is not relevant to its target market or that the site is not attracting its target market effectively. Bounce rate can be measured in one of two ways: Either determining the number of visitors who enter the website but “bounce” or move before exploring anything other than the entry page or determining which visitors leave the site after only a brief time period.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors coming to your site and without any action leave the landing page to the total number of visitors. It should be between 30-40%.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors to a given website that leave the site after viewing only a single page. Used in Web analytics, often for CRM analysis, this metric helps the website owner assess the effectiveness of the content. A high bounce rate can be interpreted to mean either that the content is not relevant to its target market or that the site is not attracting its target market effectively.

Bounce rate can be measured in one of two ways: either determining the number of people who enter the website but “bounce” before exploring anything other than the entry page or determining which visitors leave the site after only a brief time period, generally five seconds.

Bounce rates for websites and those for single pages are calculated differently. The bounce rate for a single page is calculated by dividing the number of visitors who entered that page and then bounced by the total number of visitors to that page. The bounce rate of an entire site is calculated by dividing the number of visitors who bounced after viewing a single page by the total number of visitors who entered the website. Using both calculations together can help a website owner compare the effectiveness of a single page to that of the entire site.

The lower the percentage, the more effective and relevant the site is judged to be. A high bounce rate is usually classified as one that exceeds 70%, but any site or page with a bounce rate over 50% is arguably in need of further research and development. In the case of a high bounce rate, site administrators can perform a series of changes in a trial and error fashion, and determine which adjustments to the content prove to be more appealing to visitors.

Bounce Rate tells what percentage of your visitors visit your blog but leave without going through your content or traversing other pages of your blog (i.e. they are just visiting landing page, and leave your site without opening second page of your site)This rate is shown as percentage.

For an instance, if your site has a bounce rate of 75%, it means that 75 out of every 100 visitors who clicked on to your link did not view the other pages of your blog rather simple left within seconds on visiting the first page of your blog.
