It will depend on what you are changing your URL to? It can either benefit your webpage or can decrease the ranking.

If you do a redesign right, you won't lose any traffic or rankings; in fact, you'll gain them.

If we change our URL structure, will we lose our SEO ranking?

The SEO Impact of Changing URLs
The short answer is very much YES - any significant changes to URLs and URL structures across your website can have a significant impact on how visible you are on Google and ultimately affect your traffic.
To many, URLs are just seemingly inconsequential addresses to webpages. However, how you structure URLs for SEO matters. They may seem less important than the title and heading elements but URLs can be a powerful tool for achieving SEO success.

The impact of changing URLs on your SEO can be severe. Doing so makes your site susceptible to 404 errors and broken links, which means it's nearly impossible for Google to properly index your site. Before making changes to any URL, there are some very important factors you need to consider.

Does the change in layout impact my ranking and search results? On a side note, there's no change in the content and the URL structure. It's still the same as before.” Ordinarily the general answer would be that no, it doesn't make a difference.

If your new URL scheme isn't universally better than the old one, some pages may permanently lose ranking. There's no good way to A/B test a site-wide SEO change. More often, it's just a case of diminishing returns. Going from pretty good to pretty gooder probably isn't worth the time and effort, let alone the risk.
