I have learned several things about good website designs in all these years of being a webmaster. One of the most important things that need to be taken care of, while designing the layout of the website is that it should be kept simple and effective. Although we are tempted by nice and flowery images and make attempts to incorporate many designs that do not work eventually. However, when the speed of loading is being compromised already you will be able to see the right way around it. You should avoid excessive usage of graphics and high resolution images as it will push your website down further. It is necessary to check that the website navigation is absolutely perfect to facilitate the users .

I like to design a website with css and div tags, very rarely do I use a table, I call images from the css and layout using rows, instead of rows and columns, rows only, is the best layout for a website, rows are super SEO friendly and the user never gets confused. Try it you will be surprised at how fast the site loads, and the search engines will index it right away and if you know about keywords and meta tags and how to use them you can get into the top ten on most keywords using my technique alone.

"KISS" is an advice that is given in a number of different applications, and depending on how you want to understand it, it can either mean "Keep it short and simple" or "Keep it simple, stupid!" Web Design is just one of the applications that this advice is valid in, and even without considering things like load speed, people should be able to see why simpler is better in most cases.

Apple is the best example of striking the balance of simplicity (white space, strong type) with rich imagery sensitively-applied.
It�s also a big, varied, constantly-new site with loads of content, which always feels easy & enjoyable to navigate.
For solving the numerous demands on the UI so elegantly, this is, in my opinion, the best-designed web site in the world today.
