So, I've been helping a friend rank his site on Google.
Some of his pages do well and show in the first page, but there's one that's puzzling me. It's the most honest and complete review there is for a certain ebook. The actual article is about a year old, and is ranking in page 5 for its main keywords! It doesn't have many links, but there are a few natural ones, mostly nofollow. I absolutely can't understand why, most pages that outrank it are OBVIOUSLY extremely low quality content, within websites overwhelmed by spammy backlinks. There is no variable I can think of that would make these sites outrank my friend's, for this particular review.

You have to use quality content & links to rank it in Google.
