A canonical link element is an HTML element that helps webmasters prevent duplicate content issues by specifying the "canonical" or "preferred" version of a web page as part of search engine optimization.

The key issues that canonicalization can settle come from various uses for a solitary bit of writing–a passage or, all the more frequently, a whole page of content–that shows up in different areas on one site or on numerous sites. For internet searchers, this introduces a problem: Which rendition of this substance would it be advisable for them to show to searchers? SEOs allude to this issue as copy substance.

The Canonical Tag is indicated in a website’s source code. It hints at a standard resource – the canonical URL of websites with the same or almost the same content. If a canonical URL is indicated correctly, this resource is used for the indexation in search engines.

A canonical connection component is an HTML component that helps website admins anticipate copy content issues by indicating the "canonical " or "favored" form of a site page as a feature of site improvement.

Cannibalisation can be a testing idea to comprehend (and difficult to purport: "ca-non-yuck winnow eye-zay-evade"), yet it's fundamental to making an upgraded site. The crucial issues that cannibalisation can settle originate from different uses for a solitary bit of writing–a passage or, all the more regularly, a whole page of content–that shows up in numerous areas on one site or on various sites. For web crawlers, this displays a problem: Which rendition of this substance would it be advisable for them to show to searchers? SEOs allude to this issue as copy substance.

Canonical tags are used to declare a single page as its own source or for duplicate pages to reference their source / originating page.
