A session is defined as a group of interactions one user takes within a given time frame on your website. Google Analytics defaults that time frame to 30 minutes. Meaning whatever a user does on your website (e.g. browses pages, downloads resources, purchases products) before they leave equals one session.

Session and visit are two different things. When a user clicks on a web page or website then it is called as visit and the time duration which the user stay called a session.
The time duration which the user stays on a web page or a website called a session yet When a user clicks on a web page or website, it called a visit. So, I clear you that session and visit are two different things.

A session ID or session token is unique identifier that a website assigns to a specific user for some predetermined duration of time, or session, to keep track of visitor activity. ... Both Cookie and URL parameter session IDs can cause prevent search engines from properly crawling and indexing web content.

A session is characterized as a gathering of communications one client takes inside a given time allotment on your site. Google Analytics defaults that time allotment to 30 minutes. Meaning whatever a client does on your site (e.g. peruses pages, downloads assets, buys items) before they leave breaks even with one session.

Meaning whatever a user does on your website (e.g. browses pages, downloads resources, purchases products) before they leave equals one session. In short, the Sessions metrics is a unified way to report “Visits” and “Active Users.”

Your explanation is really very informative, just would like to add some value to it. One use can have multiple Sessions, but one session can't have multiple user.

For example:- If you are in the website for more than 30 minutes, new session will start. Similarly, if you are not active on the page and visit the page again than also another session will be created..
