Java is object oriented, secure, robust and platform independent.

It's being taught in universities.

It compiles code into byte code then executes it with the Java Virtual Machine, that's how it works on any operating system (so ++).

And despite the fact that its doing so many things it works really fast and at the same time offers alot of easy functionality via packages and libraries and its API is not that hard to learn.

Also not all languages can be popular at the same time . But java's main advantage is cross-OS compatibility and speed.

Though Java has been criticized from the very beginning of its appearance, it is still a dominant among other languages. But I should say, there are reasons for this fact. First of all, Java has powerful traffic opprtunities and a lot of learning advantages. Also it succeeded in the mobile apps market as Android is completely built in Java. It has to be noted that Blu-Ray standard is built around this language. If someone wants to explore the subject in more detail, I recommend to take a look at the article on https://diceus.com/10-reasons-why-java-is-dominant/. Hope it helps!
