Thumbs up The Difference between NoFollow & Dofollow

Nofollow links attributes do not allow search engine bots to follow link. That means if the website owner is linking back to you with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice. Only Humans will be able to follow the links. Though some time back Google made it clear that they don’t consider nofollow link attributes but weightage of such links are really less. Even though, it’s a good practice to use Nofollow link attribute to those link, where you don’t want to pass link-juice.

Example of Nofollow Link:

<a href=”url” rel=”nofollow”>Google</a>
Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website. Giving us link juice and a backlink. If a webmaster is linking back to you with this link both Search Engine and Humans will be able to follow you. The best way to give someone dofollow love is allowing keyword in the anchor text. This means when you are linking to any website or page, use the targeted keyword as anchor text.

Example of Dofollow Link:

<a href=”http://www.elchamel.com/”>Google</a>

Note: By default all the hyperlinks are dofollow. So, you don’t need to do anything to make a link do-follow.

There is lot of difference. Its like day and night. There is a term called juice, which a website passess when it links to another website.

Here are manjor differences:

Quote:
No follow:

Don't pass the juice
Consider the link as non trusted
You don't get benefit of the website's high PR.

Do follow:

Passes the juice
Consider the link as trusted
Benefit of website's high PR
Help is link building.

'Do follow' links are crawled by search engine bots and thus they contribute to website backlink building.

Example: <a href=”https://www.brotherlabs.com/in/” rel=”dofollow”>E-commerce website development</a>

'No follow' links are never crawled by search engine spiders and hence they do not contribute to back-link building. Both types of links are used to build traffic for your website and help in keyword ranking in search engines.

Example: <a href=”https://www.brotherlabs.com/in/” rel=”nofollow”>E-commerce website development</a>

Nofollow links: - No follow link naked link which helps to get traffic towards the website but does not help in ranking the specific keyword.
Dofollow links: - Do follow links are that links in which keywords are anchor text. when the Google crawl the links automatically the ranking of the keyword is increased in the Search engine results page.

NoFollow links attributes do not allow the search engine bots to follow the link; whereas DoFollow links allow all the search engine to follow the link and reach target website.

Simply to explain, if you make a nofollow backlink on your post, it means the link is off the topic of what you write on the post. But, if you make a dofollow link on your post, it means the link is relevant to the topic you write the post.

Dofollow link means the site allows the outbound link as a relevant reference and vise verse to the nofollow link.

Do follow and no follow are link attributes and contain instructions for search engine robots. Do follow links are crawled and indexed in search engines whereas no follow links are never crawled and indexed in search engines.

A dofollow link will pass the SEO strength, or "PageRank" of the page to the site that it links to. A nofollow link, in theory, will not do this. That's the main difference between the two.

Remember, ultimately you want a healthy balance of do follow and no follow backlinks for the perfect link profile. Do follow links may do more for SEO, but both deserve a place in your online marketing strategy.
