Articles versus Forum Profile Linking
There is some evidence to suggest that Forum Profile Linking is a better approach to seo than the old article writing process. Apparently the serps were seeing articles are duplicate content and hence the links were not getting picked up.

That happened sometime back. Now, articles are one of the trusted sources of traffic. Google is not capable to find which is original and fake.
