Social Media does not provide dofollow links.. so it won't count as backlinks but it will help your online presence when people search your site. You can also build a list of real people through your social media contacts that will visit your website and become familiar with your service/product.

Social media sites are always helpful for any site. Most of the traffic on my generated through Facebook and Twitter, So I will suggest you never under estimate the power of SOCIAL MEDIA
