Beside focusing on content you should build links from high PR sites that are index frequent by SE bots, then your site will be index soon

Submit your website in Google & Bing Web Master Tools. Then use Fetch as Google and when you show the Fetch Status as Success click the button "Submit to Index" beside it. Do this for your every page including home page. Follow this steps in Bing Web Master tools also.

You can manually have Google come index it. Just make sure before you do to have a fresh, updated XML sitemap. The first thing the bot looks for is the sitemap. If you have pinged Google to look at your site and it comes by and there is no sitemap, it doesn't look professional. Then go into Google webmaster tools and go to this url https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url
