I want to know how to link wheel is work? Is it effective or not?

A link wheel consists of separate URLs with content on them and two links within that content. One of the links points to the site you are trying to rank, and the other link will point to another URL in the wheel. This other URL in the wheel will also have content on it that contains two links, one to your main site, or “money site” and the other to yet another URL in the wheel. Thus creating a virtual wheel with your main site in the middle and other URLs around it that all link to each other and your site as well.

As most search engines now ignore reciprocal links and link farms many webmasters have looked for other less obvious ways to create inbound links to their website.
The link wheel is one such idea where several similar themed websites get together and create a circle of links. So website A links to website B which links to website C which then links back to website A. Link wheels can contain any number of websites from the three in this example upwards. |

Link wheeling is useful method now a days in link wheeling we have to generate our profile to web 2.0 sites at least on 20 site and we have to create link on all sites and give link to all and as well to our site too which we want to endorse.

Now days link wheel not working. When you add your link to other site and that site link you add other site so that type chain cold in SEO link wheel.
For Example I have post my content a Article website and than i have post other Article so when i will mention my first Article link on my second Article website.

Link wheel is nowadays considered as the best alternative to reciprocal links. A link wheel groups together websites that are similar themed and generate a link circle which connects website A to website B as well as website B to website C and vice versa.
