Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is a part of the Google algorithm. Latent Semantic Indexing is a system that uses a mathematical technique to understand the relationship between terms or keywords.

Instead of using direct keywords LSI keywords can be used to link the target pages .LSI means(Latent Semantic Indexing) Google will index these keywords and the phrases containing in keyword also get indexed so that you original keyword also getting ranks.

LSI is based on the principle that words that are used in the same contexts tend to have similar meanings. Called Latent Semantic Indexing because of its ability to correlate semantically related terms that are latent in a collection of text, it was first applied to text at Bellcore in the late 1980s.

LSI refer to latent semantic index it is used to find out the relationship between terms and concepts in content. In seo LSI Keywords are used which with our primary keyword we have to also target LSI keywords which are closed variation of our primary keyword.

LSI Keywords are used for not to extend keyword density. Keyword density is very important is SEO so LSI Keywords are useful.
