You need both PHP & JAVA
But, PHP is much more important.

There are many programming languages but html and php both are my favorite languages.java is tough language.

You should be familiar with both of the languages but when it comes to which one is better, I would select PHP.

PHP and JAVA
PHP and JAVA are the programming language. PHP is used for create the dynamic website and the java is used for mobile application........

If you're a beginner don't start with java on web development.

PHP all the way. And do everything from template system to database connections, try to do a simple game etc.

Then move to something like the java play framework.

Keep in mind php is much slower than java for any more than low computations.

I would recommend my browser games making tutorial blog where you can learn a bit of everything from php, from sessions to template systems etc.
