URL parameters are those which are set dynamically in the URL of a webpage which are defined in the admin page with the help of Page editor. Any number of parameters can be added as per the webpage with the forward slashes.

On the World Wide Web, a query string is the part of a uniform resource locator containing data that does not fit conveniently into a hierarchical path structure. The query string commonly includes fields added to a base URL by a Web browser or other client application, for example as part of an HTML form.

URL parameter. A way to pass information about a click through its URL. You can insert URL parameters into your URLs so that your URLs track information about a click.
