HTML5 is the next major revision of the HTML standard superseding HTML 4.01, XHTML 1.0, and XHTML 1.1. HTML5 is a standard for structuring and presenting content on the World Wide Web.
HTML5 is a cooperation between the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group (WHATWG).

HTML is a markup language for designing webpage.HTML5 is acore technology used for structuring the content of the webpage.On october 2014,HTML5 become the final and complete fifth version of html standard of the world wide web consortium.New semantic elements are <header>,<footer> and graphics elements are <svg> and <canvas> and new multimedia elements are <audio> and <video>.

Html 5 also reduce our coding work , it crated by full responsive , in this method you dont need to create a header body and footer div separately
you can just create it by using below tags
<header></header>
<nav></nav>
<body></body>
<footer></footer>

there are many tags which are not in previous version of HTML like <vedio>

HTML5 is a really prospective thing nowadays. There are some great web and software development companies like the http://www.nixsolutions.com/ which offers great services. Go for it, I guess

HTML5 is designed for the web, both now and in the future. This is the specification that we will be working with for the next decade at least, so the process of its development is relatively slow and considered.
