Ensure your practice with MT liability insurance
One of the most common reasons that businesses of all kinds possess liability insurance is simply to protect their assets in case a customer or client has an accident on the property of the business. This could be a slip on a wet floor in the grocery store or a trip over a loose rug in the hallway of your massage therapy practice.
If a client does take a spill at your practice, even if there was nothing to cause the accident, you will want to know you are covered by massage therapy liability insurance. In the case of such an accident, the general liability portion of your policy would kick in to provide the necessary protection. Besides giving you “slip and fall” insurance through the general liability coverage, the right massage therapy liability insurance policy also should provide protection against other possible occurrences, such as a malpractice claim. Generally, people tend to think of malpractice only when it comes to medical doctors, but this applies to massage therapist and bodyworkers as well. Basically, a malpractice claim is based on a client who believes he or she was harmed due to a lack of skill or competence on your part. As a professional who physically works one on one with members of the public, it is always a good idea to have malpractice insurance, and this is an integral component of a massage insurance policy, along with the general liability insurance. |
