Dofollow Links and google?

Hi guys,
I want to ask that Why Google should give first preference on Dofollow list rather than of Nofollow list?
Any thoughts?

Preference? What do you mean by that?

It’s just that there’s a division - links that pass backlink credit (dofollow) and links that don’t pass any backlink credit (nofollow). Now most people think that since nofollow links don’t pass any link juice, they are futile. They however forget that such links might bring them loads of referral traffic!!

Nofollow is usually used:
-When you don’t want the Pagerank to flow to unimportant pages of your website (testimonials, contact pages etc.)
-When you don't want to take responsibility of any outgoing link on your website
-When they want to prevent PR sculpting to external links
-When you want to use paid links (Google considers paid links with nofollow as ethical)
