Adwords: Google AdWords is Google's main advertising product and main source of revenue.

Adsense: Google AdSense is a program run by Google that allows publishers in the Google Network of content sites to serve automatic text, image, video, and rich media adverts that are targeted to site content and audience.

Google Adsesnse is an advertising program where you, as a webmaster sell advertising space on your website to Google. When somebody clicks one of the ads, Google pays you a fee.

The Google AdWords program enables you to create advertisements which will appear on relevant Google search results pages (for which you pay a fee).

As Google Adwords is a program you can use to get listed in the search results for Google and other search engines, such as AOL, for which it supplies advertisements. You essentially create an account, insert your advertisement, pick the maximum amount you are willing to pay per click on your ad and then submit your credit card. You advertisement will then go live once the credit card is approved. And adsense is an advert that is displayed on a blog or website relevant to the subject of the site. Google place Adsense adverts on the site of participating webmasters which are generated by Adword campaigns. If the ad gets clicked on the participating webmaster receives a small commission. The term for this as mentioned previously is called Pay Per Click or PPC.
