What is nofollow and dofollow?

No follow means Google is not following your website but do follow means Google is follow your website and sharing the link juice from other high PR sites.

No follow link would not influence the link target's PageRank and do follow influences...

Search engines use links(internal links and external links) as one of the many factors for ranking a web page. More the number of links pointing to your website or webpage, higher the chances of your site ranking well on the search pages. Links can be nofollow links and dofollow links. When you declare a link as nofollow, its an instruction to the search engine not to consider that link for ranking a web page. Dofollow links are the opposite. Links are by default, dofollow links.

Nofollow : Backlinks that do not pass any backlinking credit. You can use nofollow attribute with backlinks which you don't trust.

Dofollow : By default, backlinks are dofollow. You will get credit for these backlinks.

Dofollow: These backlinks give you PR as well as traffic to tour website
Nofollow: These backlinks give you only traffic. Not PR.

If you get more dofollow links, then search engines will decipher your links as backlinks and you have more chances to receive positive values for your site’s ranking.
