What is 301 redirection?
 

Hi Friends, I have a question regarding SEO that what is 301 redirection and how it is beneficial for SEO.

When the domain name of the website has been changed then we use 301 redirect for permanent redirection.

301 redirect must also be used when you change an active link on your site, such as a page's link, a post's link...For example, if you want to change .../new-car-models/ with .../new-automobile-models/, you need to redirect the old link to the new one, so that google won't keep them both in its index and rank them both, or worst, to treat them like duplicate content. 301 redirection redirects your old pages link to a new page as google will not keep the track of both the links.
