What is the correct position for main navigation to a responsive website?

Recently in web designing there are many advanced changes acquired with html 5 and css3. So Navigation or Menu is the main important part in the website.
Earlier we use to place the menu after the logo. That is good for normal websites, but coming to responsive websites, we must and should arrange a drop down jquery based navigation of moving sidebar like menu will be better.

In my experience a sidebar menu like face book looks good for responsive websites?

I am positioning my main navigation bar at the bottom of my header, between my logo and my secondary navigation. I found some css that positions it exactly where I want it (see below), but in my responsive them the menu floats above the logo and secondary navigation when the screen is resized to smaller proportions.
