Keyword ranking

Any one can clear my doubt..while i am checking my keyword ranking means in first time it was not there in 2 page but at the same time i was change the search settings to 100 and checking means it was showing in 12th position ...why it was like this....anyone can explain me?

This is a bit annoying, use SEO rank reporter if you use Wordpress, other wise search for google postion tracker
