The difference between pay per click and search engine marketing is that, pay per click is a paid links where you pay money to the Google. Where in SEO you don't have to pay the money to the Google, it is an organic traffic in other words is called natural linking.

Pay Per Click - We want to pay for Google for each clicks. through this we can get a very targeted audience within short span of time. Our site gets listed in Google Ads list.
SEO- Natural slow process that we follow to get a healthier site. We don't pay for any clicks. Our site gets listed in organic search list.
