  • Cloud computing is a impressive name for software and/or hardware that is available via the Internet.
  • Colocation is high-tech real estate, or outsourced data center space, where you can run your company-owned software and hardware.

Colocation is an outsourced data center space, where you can operate your company-owned software and hardware , clouds are typically built on commercial off-the-shelf x86 based systems, which both reduces cost while enabling rapid technology. The biggest difference between colocation and the cloud lies within the ways enterprises use servers. In cloud hosting, you rent the equipment, the space and the manpower to manage it and keep it running.

A colocation center is a building where you place computer servers.

Cloud is IAAS, infrastructure as a service. You rent shared space on virtual machines running inside a colocation center.
