We can promote our website as well as our content through Web 2.0 sites and also we can say that we can direct promote our website through Web 2.0 website.

After reading this thread I am still not really clear what exactly web 2 sites are. Can some one please provide a clearer explanation.

Your statement is half true. You can get traffic from web 2 sites but but it still does not explain what a web 2 website is. Web 2 web sites are web sites with user generated content like Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Wikipedia, even this forum would classify as a web 2 website.
