A contextual link is a type of link that's usually found within the body of content and is in context with the idea surrounding the link. It can be both natural (voluntary links from other websites – ex: link bait) and artificial (manually built – ex: one of your guest posts that links back to your blog/content)

Contextual links are those that are built from existing webpage content. These links are very helpful to build your domain trust as the links come from already existing indexed contents with high authority. They are also helpful to drive good traffic from those webpages.

Contextual links are not article marketing as a matter of fact article marketing suck at contextual linkbuilding since most article directories do not allow in text links.

Contextual links have 2 characteristics.
1-Located in the middle of text that is highly relevant to the link keyword.
2-Located inside a web site that is highly relevant to the link keyword.

Contextual link-building is also one kind of link-building, which designed to be more 'natural' in the eye of Search engines. For example the weblink we get to study in Short article may be contextual weblink as well. As a consequence even if he is purchasing weblink from weblog proprietor, Search engines could not identify it.
