Hello vidyuth08, first of all i don't think penguin update is upcoming. It is already functional from 2012 and it has already penalized many websites. Penguin is just to make google results more ethical. You need to be honest in delivering value to web, don't fool others to remain protected, their is no scheme or methods to save your self from these algorithms. They were made just to punish spammers so it is quite clear that people in google must have given a lot of time to make sure that it is most accurate. The only solution is to deliver quality to web and be honest in your self. Focus on giving more and gaining less. On part of technical aspect all i have read is that google penguin compares the relevance of a link on any webpage to make sure that the link really deserve to be there. And in this process footer links like links in seo or blog comments or side bars are not counted by google. Also google punishes websites that have almost similar content, what i mean is they punish if the content is copied. The best way to do that is by comparing the anchor text of links on a website with the keyword by which the website gets ranks in search results. Suppose if siteownersforum is not getting rank on google with the keyword "paneer tikka" then google won't count links that have anchor text related to cuisines.
