this is because google ranks your sites backlinks based on the relevance and quality of the backlink
Buying backlinks typically puts your links on spammy or untrusted sites and this indicates to google that your site may too be spam lowering your rank and if the link is irrelevant this will also damage your site

So yeah basically dont do it!
