Is Pagerank really dead?
 

I've been focusing on PageRank for so long now, and since I'm out of the loop, not much of an IM'er and only focus on producing content - I was confused when I read that PageRank isn't an effective ranking factor anymore.

Does anybody answer the question??? I am also intresting:
"Is Pagerank really dead?"

AS per sources google is not updating pagerank.But still is has importance as per digital marketing experts.While indexing webpages in their results google considers many factors like content,quality backlinks etc in that page rank is also one of the factor that search engine consider to index web page in top results.

Realtime Pagerank is at the heart of Google's link authority algorithm and is not dead. The rarely updated Toolbar Pagerank is also not dead... yet.

For me Page Rank is dead. Now most of the website owners do not go for page rank. The main fact is traffic. How much traffic you are getting.

Yeah Page Rank is now equal to dead because it hasn't updated for a while ago and it’s not going to matter anymore.

Not exactly! Though it doesn't have so many value today, it express partly power of one website.

Page rank is not active as Google has stopped updating their page rank algorithm since the past couple of years. They are no more important.

As Larry said long ago, we want to give you back “exactly what you want.” When Google was founded, one key innovation was PageRank, a technology that determined the “importance” of a webpage by looking at what other pages link to it, as well as other data. Today we use more than 200 signals, including PageRank, to order websites, and we update these algorithms on a weekly basis. Google PageRank is not dead to Googlers, but it is dead to us. Page rank is not active now a days so dude you can say, It's dead...!!!

Google has stopped updating its page ranking algorithm. This doesn't mean that page ranking is dead. There are still some link building metrics that control over the page information, may it be the traffic or authority. Alexa uses traffic ranking to the websites, Moz uses a calculated metric for page authority.
