LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing, it helps search engines to find out what a webpage is containing all about. It adds an important step to the document indexing process. LSI considers a document that has many words in common to be semantically close, and ones with few words in common to be semantically close and ones with few words in common to be semantically distant.
