In search engine optimization (SEO), Google Dance is an out-dated slang term used to describe the period of time in which Google used to rebuild its rankings, and as a result of this rebuilding, rankings of Web sites on Google's SERP may fluctuate in order during a several day period.

once a month, Google update their index by recalculating the Pageranks of each of the web pages that they have crawled. The period during the update is known as the Google dance.

Because of the nature of PageRank, the calculations need to be performed about 40 times and, because the index is so large, the calculations take several days to complete. During this period, the search results fluctuate; sometimes minute-by minute. It is because of these fluctuations that the term, Google Dance, was coined. The dance usually takes place sometime during the last third of each month.

"Google Dance" is used to describe the period when the Google search engine is rebuilding its rankings while changing its algorithms. And because of this, the results fluctuate for some days. It describes the period that major index updates of the Google search engine are being implemented.

Google Dance is a time period, in which Google update their data from their servers and you get high fluctuation in ranking like mostly keyword rank on first page or all keywords disappear from ranking.. etc. It is for small time because after some days, you get your actual ranking again

Google Dance (dance keyword) is the phenomenon of a website has been indexed in the SERP rankings altered (can be promoted or vice versa) when searching for a certain keyword or the entire list List of keywords in the website's SEO strategy which, after a short time after the order is back to normal.
