Method of improving your page rank
 

Hello everyone.
So i've read somewhere about a method of improving your page rank by building strong backlins but i'm not sure if google's ok with it
The idea was to buy expires/about to expire domains,with some age and a decent authority,to make a few posts, few pages,make it look like a real website and with unique articles and place 2-3 link to your website.Some said that method really help you with your website,my questios is,did anyone tryed to do that,is it legal/safe ?
