f Google isn't currently crawling your pages their only option is to fall back to old data. Not sure why anyone would want to do work (SEO) only for it to go unnoticed (not crawling pages).

The answer is yes. The crawler error definitely affects your SERP ranking. So better fix it.

Google crawl the good links in which their are no errors. If you post error post then google search engine will not crawl your links and it will automatically affect your keyword position.

Many crawl errors means many pages are not being visible/crawled/indexed in Google. Means you are losing opportunity to be part of ranking for particular keyword/many keywords. Means overall losing traffic.

how to fix it.

Definitely Crawl error will effect your keyword ranking. Because if a user comes to visit your website and found 404 or any crawl error that the user will loose his or her interest and that will lead to increase bounce rate of your site.

and definiutely your keyword ranking will suffer.
