What are doorway pages?

Doorway pages are web pages that are created for spamdexing. This is for spamming the index of a search engine by inserting results for particular phrases with the purpose of sending visitors to a different page.

Doorway page is a keyword stuffed page which after a few minutes redirects to another page. The real page webmaster wants to show. This page is generally Affiliate page or a CPA offer. So using doorway pages, both Google and human see the same page.

Doorway pages are also considered web spam by Google. They are basically created to target a bunch of key phrases and all of them take you to the same landing page(for eg. seen some parked domains that take you to a page for a key phrase and there is nothing of value out there but links to junk). This can be also augmented with multiple domains. This practice is going to be heavily penalized now on.

Doorway pages are simple HTML pages that are customized to a few particular keywords or phrases, and they are programmed to be visible only by specific search engines and their spiders.

Doorways are sites or pages created to rank highly for specific search queries. • Substantially similar pages that are closer to search results than a clearly defined, browseable hierarchy

Doorway Pages are defined as low-quality pages (or groups of pages, or entire websites) optimized to rank well for specific keywords that act as a door between users and content. Characteristically, they offer little value to visitors and serve the sole purpose of boosting SEO value
