What is the use of rel nofollow?

Hello friends,

What is the use of rel nofollow?

Hi

The nofollow tag is a way publishers can tell search engines not to count some of their links to other pages as “votes” in favor of that content.

Rel NoFollow is an elemental microformat, one of several microformat open standards. By adding rel="nofollow" to a hyperlink, a page indicates that the destination of that hyperlink should not be afforded any additional weight or ranking by user agents which perform link analysis upon web pages.

Rel=Nofollow instruct some search engines that the hyperlink should not influence the ranking of the link's target in the search engine's index.

nofollow tag

nofollow tag, you can tell search engines that don't follow that link. The search engine will not count that link.

The rel attribute is used to provide context about the relation of the linking page with the link target.
