Good programming techniques: Minimizing javascript

There are still a lot of users out there who have javascript disabled in their browsers so a good programmer needs to have an alternative, minimize javascript or not use on key areas of a site.

I use languages/scripting in their purposes. Javascript for browser activities then ajax for database related processes.

I disagree that alot of people have javascript disabled. Nowadays most all websites on the internet use and often rely on js code to allow the visitor to efficiently interact with the site. Hell, browsers have it defaulted on and most people don't even know how to turn it off. If they do know how, they are smart enough to know to keep it on. Even most domain environments have javascript code enabled. It's activeX content that is most often disabled.

The very existence is a scripting language, beautiful, in fact, offer you options and talking browsers, JavaScript can be enabled with a few buttons in the browser.
